The Next Evolution

COMPASS 4.0 represents the coalition’s next chapter of adaptation. Through the COMPASS ACCELERATE Project (CAP), COMPASS is moving towards a more focused model designed to respond to the changing HIV, policy and funding environment while protecting and building on the coalition’s most important assets.

The CAP approach brings together community leadership, policy and systems advocacy, equity in HIV prevention, resource mobilisation, accountability, collaboration and transition planning.

COMPASS is also evolving towards a more focused and efficient model, concentrating resources where they can have the greatest impact while exploring how the COMPASS model can remain relevant and sustainable beyond traditional donor funding.

Regulatory approval for Lenacapavir created an important policy and regulatory foundation for future access to long-acting HIV prevention.

Zimbabwe

Continued engagement around new prevention technologies and community priorities in national planning and Global Fund-related processes.

Malawi

Continued civil society engagement around Global Fund GC8, national strategy development and sustainable health financing.

These emerging milestones reflect the direction of COMPASS 4.0: building on the policy, financing and governance gains of earlier phases while focusing more sharply on prevention policy, domestic resource mobilisation and community-led accountability. The lessons and achievements from COMPASS 1.0–3.0 therefore provide the foundation for this more focused and sustainable next chapter.
