Domestic Resource Mobilization and Human Resources for Health

COMPASS supports efforts to strengthen sustainable financing for health by advocating for increased domestic investment and efficient use of resources. This promotes policies and strategies that address gaps in human resources for health, ensuring that countries have a well-trained, adequately supported workforce to deliver quality HIV and broader health services. Through these efforts, COMPASS promotes increased allocation of domestic resources for HIV programs, improved transparency in how funds are used, and stronger accountability mechanisms to ensure resources reach communities most affected by HIV.

HIV Prevention: Choice, Access, HIV PX Roadmap Accountability

COMPASS supports efforts to expand New HIV prevention technologies (including LEN and CAB-LA) and ensure equitable access to services for those most at risk. Through advocacy, data, and community engagement, COMPASS promotes accountability to national and global HIV Prevention (HIV PX) Roadmaps, ensuring prevention interventions reach communities effectively and sustainably.

Community Led Monitoring and Accountability

COMPASS strengthens community systems to track the quality, accessibility, and responsiveness of HIV and health services. By supporting community-led monitoring initiatives, the program amplifies community voices, generates evidence for advocacy, and promotes accountability among governments and health systems.

Key Populations

COMPASS works with and supports organizations led by and serving key populations to address structural barriers that limit access to HIV and health services. The initiative advances rights-based approaches, promotes meaningful engagement in policy spaces, and strengthens advocacy for equitable health responses.

Differentiated Service delivery

COMPASS promotes differentiated service delivery models that respond to the diverse needs of communities. By supporting policies and programs that bring services closer to people, COMPASS contributes to more efficient, person-centered health systems and improved HIV outcomes.

PPPR to protect global gains of the HIV response

COMPASS supports efforts to strengthen pandemic preparedness and response systems by ensuring that HIV prevention remains central within broader health security and public health strategies. The coalition works with civil society and partners to advocate for early and effective responses to emerging health threats, promote community-led response, and strengthen the role of communities in shaping prevention strategies.

Localization

COMPASS promotes the meaningful leadership and participation of local organizations and communities in health programming and decision-making. By strengthening the capacity of local partners and supporting locally led initiatives, COMPASS advances sustainable, community-driven responses to HIV and broader health challenges.

SRH/HIV ana TB/HIV integration

COMPASS advocates for integrated approaches to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), HIV, and TB services to improve access, efficiency, and health outcomes. By promoting policies and programs that link these services, COMPASS helps ensure that communities receive comprehensive, people-centered care that addresses multiple health needs simultaneously.
